I am pleased to be leading a Gymnastics Club at St Joseph's School Oamaru on a Friday from 3-3:45
Sunday 28 December 2014
A huge congratulations to Kristiana Whiston who received a Gymnastics trophy at the final assembly on Friday 19th December. She received this for being the most improved gymnast of the year. I admire her determination and perseverance. She was continuously practicing and creating gym videos and emailing them to me. I donated and presented this new trophy that will be presented each year. It is called 'The Chantelle Jackson most improved trophy". I look forward to hearing who receives it next year. I have now finished working at St Joseph's School. Some amazng parents are going to take over the club next year with me leaving. I look forward to starting up a new club at my new school in Melbourne!

Friday 5th December end of year Gymnastics performance
On Friday 5th December we had our end of year Gymnastics performance. We had a dress rehearsal for the school. We then did a performance after school for families. The students had been learning a few routines over the last few weeks. I was so proud of them! I was very lucky and was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the parents that have been helping and the students. Polly did a lovely speech. I will miss you all so much! I look forward to hearing how the club goes next year.

We have had a fantastic year of
Gymnastics. We have had 50 students in total. We began the year learning floor,

students all learnt age group completion routines. We had 26 students compete
in the Interschool competition earlier in the year. This term we have had 38 students coming on a
Friday to learn a group routine for our Gymnastics display. I loved watching the students’ progress
throughout the year and develop their skills and a love for Gymnastics.
A huge
thank-you to Kelly, Adele and Suzie who have helped throughout the year
coaching. We couldn’t have done it without your help. Thank-you to Anna and Dan
Keno for supplying our amazing leotards. Thank-you to other parents who have
stepped in along the way and helped and supported- Jayne, Anna B, Justine,
Courtenay, Louise , Adrienne and Atiria. Thanks to the Year 6 boys who have helped to
set up each week. Also thank-you to our senior students- Polly& Tess who

Term 4 week 2
We had a great session this week. The hall was covered in mats and the children began learning their routine for the performance afternoon we are working towards. We will be performing in about week 6 or 7! We are using parts of the floor routines the children learnt for the competition as well as learning new parts. There will be about 40 children involved in the performance. The children did so well for the first practice of the whole group routine. I taught the first part, then the children helped to create the next part. We will be practicing and perfecting it over the coming weeks. Thank-you to our coaches for supporting us!

Wow what an exciting morning it was today to finally have some of our gymnasts compete in the interschool competition! I was so proud of you all and the effort you put in! Fantastic results even two 1st for our teams! It was so rewarding to see you competing and all your hard work paying off. You looked so professional in your leotards and singlets. It was a lovely morning with all the parents cheering and supporting. Come along to assembly at school this Friday 19th September- certificates and your ribbons will be officially presented to you!
Thank-you so much to the parents who have helped out. Check out all the photos on our St Joseph's Facebook page 'St Josephs Oamaru'. If you took any photos I would love to have them emailed to me: cjackson@stjoseph.school.nz to add to the Facebook page and to our Gym blog!
There will be no Gym this Friday-week 9 or next Friday week 10. It will continue after the holidays Term 4 week 1. We are desperate for some more parent help in order to continue. Please let me know if you can help. You don't have to have any Gym experience :)

Superstar practicing at home!
I just received a very exciting video of Kristiana practicing her Gym skills at home in her new leotard, with some great group photos and even her little sister practicing! Thank-you. Check it out :)
Term 3 week 6
This afternoon was very exciting! We handed out school leotards to those who had brought in their money to borrow a leotard for the year. WOW the girls look so professional now! Thank-you again to the Keno's for the leotards. The Gymnasts were so excited. I was also feeling so happy to see all the Gymnasts practicing their routines looking so smart!! I'm thinking about organising for the boys a black/navy blue singlet with the same school crest/ Gymnastic logo printed on the tops to match in with the girls. Here are a few photos from today's session as well as some group photos of the amazing Gymnasts!
